Happy 4th of July

Honestly, I probably made a reputation for not being consistent with my posting. I suppose by now it's expected considering I'm in college and working.  Trying to juggle multiple projects while also trying to stay motivated in doing what I want to do isn't the easiest. But besides the point, how are you? How's life?

(If it's going good)... That's great, I'm glad you're doing good!

(If not)...Sorry to hear that,  I know things will get better just wait!

Everyone stay safe today, and I hope you all have an awesome 4th of July. I will be posting a poem within the next hour, so stay tuned for that!

Have an Awesome Day!

Motivation

Do you ever get that feeling of not feeling motivated to do anything, and you just want to stay in bed all day? Yeah, me too😔

Feeling motivated can be hard sometimes, and most of the time it's just nice to stay in bed. Now here's when it gets tricky, you never want to force yourself to do work because then it's likely you won't give it a 100%. But if you wait until you feel motivated enough to do the work then it may never get done or you could miss the deadline. So how can one fix this dilemma?

Lol😂 I'm still trying to figure that out. I would love to hear some strategies you guys use to get yourselves motivated to do some work. As of right now, my wonderful boyfriend is helping me keep my focus. He's great at it, but I know I can't rely on him or anyone for that matter to keep me motivated.

I am thinking about working for thirty minutes at a time and then taking ten-minute breaks. We'll see how that goes🤞

Back At It Again

 Hello my utopians!

It's been months since my last post and a lot has happened since then. First thing first, I'm out of high school!!!! I did it ladies and gentlemen I graduated, with honors might I add😁. Honestly I always fantasied my graduation day and actually walking across that stage to get my diploma was so surreal.

I turned 18 in July (where my July babies at👀🌞) and according to the law I'm an adult now. It's interesting how time flies. It seems like just last week I was trying to figure out my plans for the future. Speaking of which, in a couple of days I'll be off to college pursuing my creative writing major. Honestly, I feel very refreshed and ready to get back to you guys. This will still be a writing blog with a sprinkle of me adjusting to college life.

There also might be a few changes to the blog to accommodate my newfound adulthood🤣

Have a fantastic Monday!

Is It All About The Money?

Two weeks ago I got a job. Since getting this job, I realized the appeal of having money💵 and being financially independent. In a sense money empowers people. With money, you can do whatever you want because you put hard work into getting the money. No one can say how you should spend or use your money.

cash fan

Hypothetically, you can do whatever you want as long as you have the money. With this in mind, it's easy to get money-hungry where all a person can think about is getting the money. I'm not talking about those who need it to pay bills or to take care of loved ones or to survive, but those whose main focus is just the money.

Just as money can provide independence it can trap a person in an unhealthy obsession with money. Be in control of the money. Don't let the money control you. Use it wisely, but know it's not always about the money😉😃

❤Happy Valentine's Day💙

💙Happy Valentine's Day💙

Everyone has their own ideas of what Valentine's Day should be about, but I see it as a day to tell those you care for that you love them. To me, Valentine's Day is a day where loved ones get together and spend time with each other.

Sometimes, it's not about the candy or the gifts we receive. It's about spending time with someone you care about. Maybe, you don't have a special someone in your life, that's fine! Spoil yourself, do things that make you happy, give yourself a little self-love! Whether you're single or not, I hope everyone has an amazing day!

Long Lost Twin: Prologue

It was a snowy evening. Very few people were out. One of the few that was, was a young eight-year-old boy. The cold didn’t bother him as he walked the streets on numb feet and in tattered clothes. Some would cast a look of pity at the boy, but no one offered to help him. A police officer who was watching traffic saw the boy walking towards him.

Knowing it was his duty to help those who need it, he couldn’t help but hesitant when the boy stopped in front of him, with haunted eyes. The officer cleared his throat. “Can I help you, young man? Where are your parents?” He wonders if the boy had come from a nearby shelter or had run away from home.

“I need help going to my house,” the boy said without blinking.

“Oh, where is it?” If the boy’s house was close by then he probably wouldn’t have to call in to report it.  The boy gave him the address to his house. “Alright, it’s pretty close follow me.” The boy looked behind him and then followed the officer to his cop car. The officer opened the passenger door for him and got into the driver's side.

He turned the heat on, but the boy was still holding himself as if he was still cold. The officer could tell it had been a long time since the boy had eaten. It was amazing how the cold hadn’t killed him. “Can I ask you some questions?”

“No.”

The glare the boy gave the officer made the officer stay quiet. He convinced himself he wasn’t afraid of the boy and if he needed to, he will take him down to the station. Yet, there was something about the boy that made him uncomfortable. He drove in silence casting an unsteady glance at the boy every few minutes.

“Stop right here.” The officer stopped the car next to a pale blue two-story house.

“Do you need me to wal-”

“What are you doing Rico?” The officer jumped when he saw a man appear in the back seat of the car. The man was wearing a black trench coat with long black pants.

“I wanted to see for myself,” the boy responded. The officer watched as the man stared at the boy with annoyance.

“Is he your father?” the officer asked. Rico ignored him.

“Fine go see them then,” the man said in annoyance. The boy opened the passenger door and hopped out of the car. He ran up to the house and peeked into an open window.

“Do you have any kids officer?” The officer jumped when the man addressed him.

“I have a newborn son,” the officer answered.

“I had a son. Rico reminds me of him,” the man said nodding over to where Rico was still staring into the window.

“What happened?”

“He flew too close to the sun. He passed away. His passing was too much for my wife so she left,” the man responded.

“I’m sorry to hear that,” the officer said sincerely.

“It’s fine. Now I have Rico. At least once he realizes that no one wants him.” Rico was walking back to the car with hatred in his eyes. The officer stared at him in shock. Seconds ago, he was looking sickly, and his clothes were in tatters. Now he had fresh clothes and looked healthy as ever.

“Well,” the man prompted.

“You were right. They don’t miss me. They had no intention of coming back for me,” Rico said.

“Are you mad?” the man asked.

“Yes.”

“Good. Then we have a lot of work to do. First, take care of him.” Rico turned toward the confused officer. He smiled.

“No problem.”

Hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year! Let's start 2021 off right!

Chapter 17

I wasn't able to post yesterday because some things came up and I wast taking my ACT on Saturday. I had to wake up at 6:45 in the morning. It was like waking up to go to school!

Bitmoji Image

But today is the day I've turned 17. Wow! I'm pretty excited for what 17 has in store for me. I've closed chapter 16 of my life and today marks the first day of chapter 17.
Happy Birthday

It's exciting and scary at the same thing if I'm being honest. It's nice to grow up and mature. However, the more you grow the higher the expectation people have over you. Sometimes it can be a little suffocating, but all you have to do is push through it and make the people who love you proud.

I always try my best to make my family proud and strive to do something different, to be something different. My uncle had told me not to work at a 9-5 job. He had done it so I wouldn't have to. Hearing that, made me want to show him he didn't sacrifice for nothing, that none of my family sacrifices were for nothing, especially my mom's.

I know I talk about my mom a lot on here, but it's for good reasons. She's the one who made me who I am today. It's just amazing what she has done for me and how she stood by me no matter what. I'm glad that I have a mom like her and family standing behind me to help with anything I want to do. Lol, I still can't believe I'm 17 now!

Country vs City

Show of hands, how many of you guys like to move🙋?

Bitmoji Image

Sure moving is fun and all until you realize how much stuff you have to actually pack😨. I moved from the bustling city to the quiet countryside of Georgia. As you can imagine, it's a big change. The city is busier than the country and places are in close proximity.

In the country, homes are spread out, and depending on where you live it'll take a while to reach the closest grocery store. Both of them have their pros and cons, but I like the country. Especially at night when the stars come out, it makes the night sky so pretty.  Also, it's quiet and the overall atmosphere is great.

How about you guys? Do you like the country or the city?

A Change

Hey Guys! Hope you're having a great day! I've taken a short hiatus, but I'm back. Slowly as the days go by I'll be changing what I post. I decided to post writing things mainly, which includes tips, prompts, and my own little short stories. I'm also working on some stories to put on Wattpad so keep an eye out for that😁

I'm also working on some books. I'm trying to finish this one book I'm working on by October but no later than December. Since I'm on summer vacation, I'll be posting every other day.

Make sure you tune in on Tuesday😆

Job Hunting

Happy Sunday!
I hope everyone is having a great afternoon. It's finally February.  Is it just me or did it seem like January lasted longer than it was supposed to?

Clientmoji

I'm getting a job😁 I'm so excited. I applied to five places that were hiring on Friday night. I asked a friend to see how long it took for her job that she applied for to get back to her.

Turns out it took three weeks for them to call her back. I wouldn't say that I'm an impatient person, but when there's something that I really want or excited for its kinda hard to wait. However, there's not much for me to do but to wait.

They do say the best things come to those who wait so it might not be so bad to wait😄
